| Well, I'm surprised that xanga still is letting me use their site and hasn't shut it down yet from lack of use, but I'm glad for those of you who do still check up here every now and then so that I can write here about life and keep you at least somewhat up to date about what's going on for us.
Most importantly, our daughter is due to be born 40 days from now, and that is very exciting! Amy's doing well, experiencing a very different pregnancy than with Nehemiah, but still good. God has poured out His blessing on us in preparation for her, giving us a crib for free and countless other things that we've needed of late. We have a name for our daughter, but are holding on to it until she's born, and I promise to let you know right away when she comes!
Other than that in life, God's teaching us about His design for pursuing the callings He places on people's lives, the power we have in the words we speak, the joy created by giving thanks, and how to use our individual strengths and personalities to make our marriage stronger, our family closer, and our callings more fulfilled. Also, we are putting a lot of energy right now into the business that we own, trying to grow it into a form of self-sufficiency where we won't have to put a whole lot of energy into it anymore. God's leading us to some very good connections and is providing huge blessing in proportion to the effort that we're able to give.
We're in a season of joy, and I honestly don't think it's just a season. What's actually happening is that the joy of the Lord is deepening inside of both of us and if there's a season otherwise, it will just be a season, but the joy will continue to grow as we grow in the Lord. And why shouldn't it? When you know more of the Lord, who is so very good, shouldn't your joy increase as you know Him more?
Anyway, there's a bit of an update for life. I hope that all is well with any who still read this blog from time to time, and I praise the Lord for the blessings that He will bring into your lives even as you read this post! Bless you all!
| And now, a long overdue posting to introduce you to:
My Daughter.
Amy and I are extremely excited about having a daughter! She's already wrapping Daddy around her little finger in ways her brother never will. We have a name, but we're holding it until she's born so that it's a bigger announcement, but don't worry, it's an amazing name.
Special apologies to my Grandparents White for holding them in suspense for so long!
| Ever expanding.
No, I'm not talking about our girths, I'm talking about our family. We're going to have another baby! We found out about two weeks ago and think the new baby will come about January 21st.
Needless to say, we're extremely excited! It is strange, however, how much less pounding it is in our thoughts this time compared to our first child. With our first, we already had names picked out by this point and were saying things like, "Oh, I can't wait till you're born so I can snuggle you!" Heck, by this time with Nehemiah, we'd actually already seen him in an ultrasound and heard his little heartbeat. For this one, we don't get to hear him/her until a week from today when we go in for our first appointment.
We're no less excited, but it's definitely different. Which I think is actually good, because last time I honestly think we were a little manic. This time we'll do a much better job at relishing the season we have with the family we have before it's suddenly gone and we don't ever get it back.
As for Nehemiah, he's now gone for his first swims in Grandma and Grandpa Beard's pool/hot tub, he's crawling all over the place, and he's even standing up on things now all by himself (as in, he crawls over and pulls himself up by himself). It won't be long before he's walking, and the little guy is only 6.5 months old. He managed to get out "Dada" a couple of times a few weeks back, though I doubt he knew what he was saying, but he's starting to learn to wave "bye-bye" now, and I do think he understands that one a little.
We're starting to plan a trip to CO for August, which will be fun, and it will be the first meeting between some of my family and Amy and all of my extended family and Nehemiah. It will also be Amy's first time to CO, so lots of fun there, too.
Lots of other things going on, too, but I'll leave it there for now. Blessings to all who still read my very occasional postings, and have a great summer!
Oh, one last thing: A note on my "currently watching." For anyone who's interested, if you watch this movie it will take you on the journey I've been on for the past two years. Many of my friends from before these past couple of years have only heard about the major events in my life because I haven't known how to take them on the inner journey that's filled in the gaps between the major events. This movie will explain almost the whole thing. If I could, I would buy all of you a copy so you know what God's been doing in me, but since I can't I'll just encourage you all to somehow find a copy and watch it for yourselves. Just watching the movie is an awesome experience, and it might just change your life.

| Well, as usual, it's been a long time since my last post, though this is probably the new record. Also as usual of late, this one will be about my son.
He's been hitting a few significant milestones lately, but before I get to those (and some new pictures), here's his stats for those of you who haven't (or couldn't have) been keeping track: Four 3/4 months, 20 lbs, about 27 inches, wearing 9-12 month clothes, and still growing like a weed. He's talking baby-babble almost constantly it seems, and is the cutest and happiest baby you've ever seen. On to the milestones:
First, he rolled over...and over, and over, and over...and then he stopped. One day shy of turning four months old, he rolled over for the first time, from his back to his front. He followed that up by rolling over several more times in both directions, though always from his back, before the night was done. He hasn't done it once since then. Here's a picture of him from that night:

Next, he tried rice cereal for the first time. As could be expected, the first try didn't go over real well, but he's a regular pro at it now. Here's a rather humorous after picture:

This is jumping ahead a bit, but here's another early feeding picture, this time of Daddy trying his so far unskilled hand at it:
I'll throw in what might be considered a less significant milestone here, though for me it has significance because of how important my stuffed animals were to me growing up. Nehemiah's Grandpa, my Dad, brought him home a panda named Guardian from China, and it's the first stuffed animal that he's shown any interest in. Here's a picture of some of their quality time:

If you are observant, you may have noticed his next milestone in that second feeding picture, and that's his first haircut. I'll post several pictures for this one, and the first is actually from a few weeks ago. The rest are all from his actual haircut.
And the last milestone that he's passed lately is his first word. I'm sure he doesn't know what it means yet, but on Sunday I was talking to him, just saying "hi" and "hello" when he started looking at me like he was trying to understand. He was definitely thinking about what I was saying or doing, so I kept doing it. Before long, he started mimicking what I was saying and just before he lost interest he got out two very clear "Hello"s in a row.
So if you don't already feel like you've been pounced upon by a dad with a wallet full of pictures of his kids and stories that you think are boring, here's a few un-milestone related pictures for your viewing pleasure. Enjoy:
Nehemiah asleep in his Johnny Jumper
Nehemiah's famously cute pouty face...
...and why he was pouty (it was the only way to get him to sleep for a while).
Nehemiah seems to have a knack for getting his blanket over his head if it's anywhere near him when we put him down to sleep. Then he gets fussy and let's us know that something's wrong...well, I laugh every time, so I finally took some pictures of it and here's one of them.
